Neo is meant to be a combination of support for teachers as well as a curriculum replacement. While schools can replace their health curriculum with Neo (students can engage with Neo independently), it is naturally beneficial to have teachers’ support to communicate Neo’s content to students.
Neo curriculum is based on scientifically accurate information, designed for different ages but always based on the same 8 pillars. We aim to provide students with a clear understanding of what is going on within themselves as well as the world around them. As the lessons are adapted to various age groups, some will change completely from one grade to another.
Neo offers a set of lessons and paths for students in each grade to follow. As the student moves into higher grades, content is added or changed accordingly. Students in all grades will have access to a range of lessons, quizzes, short videos, and an age-restricted community that is completely anonymous and monitored by Neo.
Teachers can oversee and keep track of how their students are progressing using a personalized dashboard.
Currently, Neo is available for students in grades seven and eight, however, Neo is working to expand this very soon!
While there are numerous methods, each depending on the school, the best overarching ways to implement and integrate Neo into the classroom are:
Neo and/or teachers can poll students anonymously about what they found most interesting or surprising within a certain Neo pillar. Based on the results from these surveys, teachers can form in-class content/discussions which focus on what students are most interested in.
Once a contract is in place (1- 3 days), schools send a CSV file with their students’ IDs and those of their corresponding teachers. From there Neo takes care of the rest. The process should not take longer than 1-5 days. Following this, students will receive a magic-link with which they will be able to access Neo through our mobile app or online.
Neo’s content is informed in part by CCSS and NGSS. Our core alignment is with the NSES, which is by all accounts the most up-to-date, comprehensive, and inclusive set of standards.
Of course. We pride ourselves on our belief that education is the most powerful weapon; whatever you want to teach your students, we’ll adapt. Schools will be able to choose the areas they wish to teach their students, but Neo will not change our specific content.
On a monthly or yearly basis, Neo will send an invoice in two different formats CSV and PDF, outlining the service provided to the client.
Students’ data will only be used for the purposes of delivering Neo’s intended services, never for marketing purposes. Schools own all data in each of their students’ accounts. Teachers and administrators can download the data corresponding to their student, class, school, and/or organization, on-demand in CSV format, by requesting it from Neo. Neo follows GDPR guidelines on data protection and privacy.
